Kripalu has been training yoga teachers for more than 45 years. The approach to the ancient practice of yoga is contemporary and non-dogmatic in order to be contextualized within the modern world. The teaching of Kripalu Yoga is to direct the focus within, to access the body’s wisdom and to live the power of the postures (asana) practice off the mat.
This extensive training prepared me to guide my clients to access their body by applying a body-scan and the five core pranayama (yogic-breathing) techniques together with the principles of anatomy, and physiology. Conjunctly, my experience with Ayurveda principles and techniques (successfully practiced for over 5,000 years), equipped me to approach each client according to their constitution and use simple seasonal diet and lifestyle adjustments to achieve their best health state.

MY STORY
Since I was a child I have struggled with serious digestive issues and chronic fatigue and spent a significant amount of time during my High-school and College years experimenting with a variety of diets and “healthy” approaches, but nothing seemed to work. I continued to suffer from gastrointestinal mycosis, IBS, adrenal fatigue and vitamin deficiencies. Then, I was diagnosed with a fructose malabsorption Hashimoto Hypothyroidism.
Both physically and emotionally, I was in a state of debilitating imbalance. Basically, my body was sending me messages that something had to change.
Eventually I began studying nutrition and holistic approaches to seek out an effective solution to these problems, eliminate my symptoms, and reach a state of health.
I began using food as a medicine, eliminating certain foods that were not good for me and gradually introducing others that I hadn’t tried. I also made some important changes in my lifestyle. The result was that, one day at a time, I began experiencing some incredible changes that gradually cured my symptoms and brought me to a complete state of health.
I began my path in Integrative Medicine, and alongside nutrition and health coaching techniques, I studied Yoga, Ayurveda, the principles of TCM, Mindfulness and the Gut Microbiome (which I continue to explore to this day). These are all practices that, together, gave me a powerful foundation to start on a journey of self-awareness, while providing me with the practical tools to work specifically on my body, mind and spirit. During this time, with a renewed skill set and perspective, I was able to connect the dots and turned my health crisis into a career. I now help people through the connection between nutrition, lifestyle, and wellbeing by looking at the root causes of symptoms, with the goal of bringing people to a healthier state and preventing chronic illnesses, through education, adjustments, practice and accountability.
